A Few Words About the XAMI

12 management institutions are active members of XAMI. The head of the Institution represents the Association. XAMI is headed under the leadership of Fr S George S.J. Director, XLRI Jamshedpur as President and Fr Joseph Marianus Kujur, S.J. Director, XISS Ranchi as Treasurer Cum Secretary.

In line with its aims and objectives, XAMI has aligned with the broader mission of Jesuit education, which emphasizes on holistic development, ethical leadership, professionalism and service to the society.

XAMI centres around both the faculty and the students. It encourages Faculty development programmes and provides scope for joint research collaboration and organizing national and international conferences. Apart from academics, the students engage themselves in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

History of XAMI

The genesis of XAMI can be traced in the Yogyakarta Forum of the International Association of Jesuits Business Schools (IAJBS) in July 1995 when an opportunity was provided for the representatives of few Indian Management Institutes to meet and resolve to promote collaboration among its Institutes.

The Association of Catholic Management Schools came together and XLRI took the initiative to form an association called the “Xavier Association of Management Institutes” (XAMI) in Goa on November 1996. It is a registered body under the Societies Registration Act 21,1860.

Since inception, XAMI has remained steadfast in its commitment to enhancing the capabilities of member institutes and promoting a value-based approach to management education, and fostering research, learning, and teaching in the field of management. Through collaborative efforts and knowledge exchange, we have not only elevated the quality of educational programs but also instilled in our students the values of professionalism, ethics, and social responsibility.
