The genesis of XAMI can be traced in the Yogyakarta Forum of the International Association of Jesuits Business Schools (IAJBS) in July 1995 when an opportunity was provided to the representatives of few Indian Management Institutes to meet and resolve to promote collaboration among its Institutes. With this aim, the Association of Catholic /Christian Management Schools came together and XLRI took the initiative to form an association called the “Xavier Association of Management Institutes” (XAMI) at a meeting held in the Goa Institute of Management, Goa on November,1996.
Our Activities
The Association had then unanimously elected Fr P D Thomas, S.J. Director XLRI, Jamshedpur as President and Fr R. D’Souza, S.J. Director, Goa Institute of Management as Secretary-Treasurer . The Catholic Management Schools came together and formed “Xavier Association of Management Institutes” (XAMI) in 1996. It is a registered society.
